About This Event

This program is supported in part by a grant from Cambridge Arts, a local agency\ which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council $15 Students, seniors, $20 gen\ Golda Solomon is a founding member of New York’s Jazz & Poetry Choir Collective, eight (8) poets and musicians bringing experience and playfulness to Jazz, and, on behalf of underrepresented people’s! She is the founder and curator of Po’Jazz occupying a monthly stage at one of NY’s iconic Jazz Club’s,THE CORNELIA ST CAFÉ, during the 90’s and 2000’s. \ Eliot Cardinaux, born in Dayton, Ohio in 1984, Eliot is a pianist and poet now living in Northampton, Massachusetts. Having studied jazz piano at The Manhattan School of Music, as well as contemporary improvisation at the New England Conservatory, he has lived in many places and absorbed a variety of influences. He is the founder of The Bodily Press through which he has released the works of other poets, as well as several of his own projects.\ Special Note, Reunion: Eliot as a young poet in the making, was a former student of Golda Solomon’s in N.Y.!\ \ Expect prepared socially conscious poetry with unrehearsed bass and piano responses!\ \ Golda Solomon is also an Adjunct Associate Professor Manhattan College and CUNY (Borough of Manhattan Community College); poet-in-residence at the Blue Door Art Center. Under the banner of JazzJaunts she also gigs around NYC and goes on the road with her poetry and New York Jazz musicians.\ She is a founding member of IWJ (International Women In Jazz) and two-time awardee performing at All Nite Soul at St. Peter\'s, NYC, the \"jazz\" church and at IWJ\'s Inaugural Women In Jazz Festival. Golda\'s first collection of poetry was Flatbush Cowgirl, for which she produced a companion CD.\ Golda created \"From Page to Performance\" workshops for emerging poets and \"ready to come out of the closet\" writers and delivers innovative, on-site organization specific arts program.\ She is a member of WOMENWRITE, nyc, bringing poe
