About This Event

This performance represents the start of our 2021-2022 Season, and we are so lucky to have our Du Bois audience along with us. As you may or may not know, our mission is to, \"use music to overcome social exclusion by elevating underrepresented voices in classical music through high-quality musical performance, education, and community engagement.\"\ \ The Du Bois Orchestra will be performing;\ \ Treemonisha Overture, by Scott Joplin\ Ethiopia\'s Shadow in America, by Florence Price\ Symphony No. 8, by Antonin Dvorak\ With your patronage and concert attendance, we can continue to accomplish our mission throughout Cambridge, Boston, and the Greater Boston Area.\ \ As a reminder, this performance will be in-person at Pickman Hall at Longy School of Music in Cambridge MA. There is LIMITED SEATING due to Longy\'s COVID-19 protocols. ONLY those with a ticket purchased in advance will be allowed in the Hall. NO TICKETS will be sold the day of the performance.\ \ Longy is requiring proof of vaccination from ALL ATTENDEES for performances - this means if you do not prove your vaccination status, you will not be admitted to the building for our concert.\ \ BY PURCHASING A TICKET YOU AGREE TO:\ \ - Wear a mask at all times while on the Longy campus regardless of vaccination status (including but not limited to hallways, entryways, and the concert hall)\ \ -Only attend this performance if you have no existing or new symptoms of the COVID-19 virus (the health of our audience and orchestral members are of the UTMOST importance to us)\ \ -Only attend this performance with others that have a ticket, as seating is limited and lack of a ticket means you will not gain entry to the concert hall (this includes children - they are people too and need a ticket!)\ \ Thank you for adhering to these guidelines, we\'re excited to have our audience back!
