About This Event
Calling all boys ages 11 to 17! Are you interested in camping, archery or fishing? What about participating in community service and environmental action to make Newton and surrounding areas better places to live? Do you want to make new friends from across the city? If so, join us on Monday, September 20th from 7 – 8:30pm at the Carroll Center for the Blind Technology Center, 770 Centre St., Newton, MA to learn more about the Scouts BSA and Troop 205. Come see why Scouting is the adventure of a lifetime!\
BSA Troop 205 was chartered in 1911 and promotes a culture where each youth and volunteer feels a sense of belonging. Boys experience a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster to achieve the BSA\'s objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness. BSA Troop 205 continued to meet (via Zoom) during the pandemic, providing a place for boys to continue to grow, while maintaining friendships outside of school. We have a very active calendar every year with monthly camping trips, community service activities through Eagle Scout projects, and weekly group meetings on Monday evenings. In addition, we go to Camp Yawgoog for one week every year as a Troop and we will be applying for High Adventure opportunities in upcoming years, including Florida Sea Base and Philmont Scout Ranch.
