About This Event

Monday - Friday, July 13 - 17, 9:30am - 12:30pm

deCordova Summer Studio for Teens is a new art intensive program for teens, designed to encourage innovation and creativity while exploring art making techniques. Individual and collaborative projects will be fueled by art in the Museum and Park, as well as nature on deCordova's grounds.  Each week, professional artists and teachers will guide teens to engage with big ideas and hone their creative practice.

Learn how to use your digital camera to take great photographs! Understand and master the controls of your camera, gain a deeper awareness of light, both natural and flash, and learn how to use principles of composition to create strong, compelling images. We will take pictures indoors and outdoors and experiment with different subjects, depth of field, and shooting motion. Each day will have a slideshow lecture or demonstration, a creative practical assignment, group critique, and time for individuals to troubleshoot with the instructor.

This interactive workshop is open to students age 13 and up. It is limited to 12 participants and is offered via zoom.
